Police: Teen shoots mother, little sister and his baby after suffering mental breakdown
A 19-year-old man shot his mother, his little sister and his baby boy after suffering a mental breakdown overnight, according to police.
He has been identified as Lance Tello.
Police responded to the 9500 block of Five Forks on the West side of San Antonio at around 2:00 a.m. Saturday morning for reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found a 49-year-old woman, a 14-year-old girl and a one-month-old baby with gunshot wounds. They were all rushed to University Hospital for treatment.
San Antonio Police Chief William McManus told us there were a total of nine people inside the house when the 19-year-old had some sort of mental breakdown.
According to police, Tello first shot the baby, then shot his mother and sister when they ran into the room, then he ran from the home. The baby’s mother was also inside the home, but was not injured.
Police were able to locate him several blocks away and took him into custody.
We are told by police that the baby and the 14-year-old sister are in critical condition and still in surgery. The mother is listed as in stable condition at this time.
Tello will be be facing three charges of Aggravated Assault.
