Kodak Black is claiming he was attacked and severely beaten by correctional officers while locked up in a Kentucky prison, and his lawyer and team are now saying they are asking the FBI to investigate the situation.
According to a new message, posted on Kodak’s Instagram and Twitter pages, the ‘Wake Up In The Sky’ rapper was ‘badly beaten’ on Friday night — including allegedly being struck in the head with metal objects.
The statement includes details surrounding the incident, and alleges that Kodak was ‘flicked’ in his genitals after suffering the beating.
Kodak’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, has jumped into action in the case and says he is calling for a third-party investigation into the case.
“I have requested that Big Sandy preserve all video and conduct a full investigation. I have also reached out to DOJ, as I feel that a 3rd party investigation needs to take place immediately. There are recordings of the witnesses that called and stated what happened to Bill,” Cohen said.
He continued, “A 22-year-old man serving approx 2 years more for a nonviolent crim is in a max pen. 1100 miles from his family and lawyers. This is true injustice.”
This isn’t the first time Kodak has claimed to have been assaulted while behind bars. While serving time in Miami prison, Kodak claims he was somehow drugged and wrangled into a fight. His lawyer confirmed the incident in his reaction to the new beating allegation saying, “Not to mention when he was under the influence of an unknown substance during the incident in Miami 2 weeks before his sentencing on the paperwork case.”
